Lip Balm & Wound Healer

I was making this balm specifically for medicinal purposes for my sister and mother who suffer from eczema. They’ve said it really works well. It is an elaboration of the original recipe I found online. However, you do not have to use all these ingredients, also just 3 ingredients are enough to make a balm!

Great for: chapped and sore lips, healing of cuts and scrapes, scars, rashes, spots/acne, eczema, bites, and bruises.

Ingredients
2 Tbsp Calendula infused Olive Oil (or infuse in almond oil)

2 Tbsp Comfrey infused Olive Oil

2 Tbsp St John’s Wort infused Olive Oil

1 Tbsp Shea Butter

1 Tbsp Coconut Oil

1 tsp Calendula Tincture

10 drops Lavender Essential Oil

5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

4 Tbsp Beeswax

Method
All ingredients are preferably raw/organic/cold-pressed for higher quality and medicinal potency. In a double boiler melt everything together (i.e. in a bowl that sits in a pan of shallow water on very low heat). Once melted, test hardness on a cold spoon or plate. If you want it softer, i.e. more like a salve you need to add less beeswax or more olive oil.
Poor into little glass jars (like the mini jam jars you get in hotels) or your old cosmetic containers. Make sure you have washed and sterilised the containers beforehand, just pop the glass jars in a 100 degree oven for 10 minutes.

P.S. If you would like more information on the medicinal properties of each ingredient, which were chosen for specific reasons – I’ll let you know!
